How credits work
Sourcelane runs on a prepaid balance of credits in your account. Your agents, the API and connected apps such as ChatGPT and Claude all draw from the same balance.
What uses credit
- Each data source has a price per result, such as per profile, per post or per comment. A request is charged only for the results it returns.
- Requests that fail or return nothing are not charged.
- Setting a limit on results (in an assistant, you can just ask for fewer) keeps each request small.
- Prices are the same everywhere: there is no extra charge for using Sourcelane through an assistant.
When credit runs out
Requests that need credit stop until the account has credit again. Nothing else changes: your connected apps, settings and history stay as they are. Credit is added from your Sourcelane account on the Sourcelane website, not from inside an assistant.
Limits and control
- Every connected app gets its own per-request, daily and monthly spend limits, which you can change at any time.
- You can pause or disconnect an app instantly, and every request it made is listed in your account.
About credits
Credits are platform credits for using Sourcelane. They can't be withdrawn or exchanged for cash. See the Terms of Service for details.
